We may be a little biased, but, we have a fantastic venue here at Hendall Manor Barns and can really offer the perfect backdrop for our couples to embellish and put their own creative stamp upon!
Here are our top 10 reasons to answer the all important question, ‘Why have a barn wedding?’
1. Location, location, location
We are set in an area of outstanding natural beauty, just south of the Ashdown Forest. Our long driveway, leads to our discreet and secluded private barn which is surrounded by fields and far reaching views. A truly stunning and tranquil setting.
2. A blank canvas
There is infinite scope to decorate the buildings at Hendall and we can assist in helping you realise any ideas you might have. The Stone Barn looks lovely with simple floristry but we encourage you to get as creative as you would like; it’s so wonderful to see how each of our couples make the barn their own.
3. Intimacy
Surrounded by your family and friends for the whole day is an important part of the occasion. Your guests will be able to relax and enjoy the surroundings within The Stone Barn and outside on the enclosed lawn and terrace. Our previous wedding couples frequently refer to the intimacy that Hendall provided on their day and it is definitely something we pride ourselves on.
4. Live Music and Acoustics
The Stone Barn provides superb acoustics and we have an extensive list of singers, instrumentalists, DJs and bands that have performed here and that we recommend.
5. A lovely ceremony in stunning surroundings
Hendall is all about the importance of the occasion – your marriage! We believe this requires nothing less than a beautiful, memorable ceremony. The Stone Barn is a gorgeous setting and, with the superb acoustics, you can embellish the ceremony with your own music and readings.
6. A venue steeped in history
The historic and beautiful buildings sit below Hendall Manor and its adjacent 17th century sandstone barn; the bridal accommodation. Formerly, a dairy farm, these redundant buildings were comprehensively refurbished between 2006 and 2011, but date back to both the 16th and 17th century!
7. Versatile in all seasons
Regardless of the time of year, Hendall offers a beautiful and tranquil space to tie the knot. The changing seasons offer differing backdrops of colour, sights, flora and fauna, and all work wonderfully in their own way!
8. Additional onsite accommodation
Many barn venues have additional barns or buildings that have been lovingly restored and converted to provide onsite accommodation. Our historic, spacious and highly unusual self-catering accommodation is generally available to couples and/or their families for the nights either side of the wedding. Sleeping up to 8, The Barn and The Piggery are great fun and make a memorable addition to your time here.
9. Flexible catering and drink options
At Hendall, we offer our couples the chance to choose their menus for their big day and have a superb list of highly professional local caterers for you to choose from. They will work with you to provide any menu or format imaginable.
We do not charge a corkage fee which means you will be able to source and supply all the drinks for your day; a real saving to be made!
10. A wonderful send off
We firmly believe in the importance of ending your day, on a high, with all your family and guests around you, ready to give you a well-orchestrated ‘send-off’ after a long and happy day. A sparkler send off is a perfect way for your guests to to say goodbye to the two of you as ‘newlyweds’ and wish you well in to your married life together.
