The Old Granary is highly unusual and has beautiful old beams, mullion windows with ancient, exposed brick and stone walls. Predominantly medieval in origin this very special building faces south over Hendall Manor’s beautiful walled garden and fields to the north. Dogs are welcome.
The newly converted 19th Century former Cart Barn is a wonderful space for mini breaks, with a freestanding bath, king sized bed and all the luxuries you would hope for after your time away. The open plan living-dining area is fully equipped for your self-catering needs. Dogs welcome.
Set on the edge of the Ashdown Forest our Self catering holiday accommodation has all the modern conveniences you would expect to enjoy during your holiday. As well as three bedrooms, living area’s, a well-equipped kitchen and dining/breakfast room, there is also a snooker/pool table in one room and table tennis in the adjoining studio room – the latter being an appropriate space to leave wellies, coats & bikes.
We had a great stay in the beautiful and sympathetically restored barn. We loved reading about the history of the farm and how it had evolved into the property it is today. Nicola was extremely responsive to questions prior to arrival and was very friendly when we arrived.
Everything was as described and the kitchen was extremely well equipped – even with a good knife to carve the turkey on Christmas Day! We especially enjoyed being able to walk the dogs straight out of the front door onto the Weald Way with multiple different footpaths to try.

The barn has amazing original character with some wonderful large internal spaces for socialising and playing games. We visited in November when the weather wasn’t great and really enjoyed the snooker and table tennis. The bedrooms were very clean and comfortable and the bathrooms and kitchens modern and well-equipped. The location is beautiful, with great walks locally to inviting pubs. It’s a place we would love to return to, perhaps in the summer.

An outstanding stay in a fantastically beautiful barn and surroundings. What a charming area and quintessential English countryside location. The Cart Barn was pristine and extremely well equipped throughout including a high end finished bathroom. We brought our dog here and they slept all the way back home with us. That’s always a good sign!
Very comfortable bed and relaxing sofa in which to digest the House’s history, fascinating!
