Hendall’s lovely building has rough stone walls dating from the 17th century, sophisticated lighting and excellent acoustics. We encourage clients to use the internal space creatively, and we can offer a wide range of tried and tested caterers to choose from.

The south-facing Terrace, Lawn and self-catering Holiday Cottage (offering bridal or family accommodation) combine to provide a lovely setting for your special day. As we are a private and exclusive-use venue, all weddings and receptions have exclusive use of the buildings for the duration of their day.

There are no ‘wedding packages’ and we encourage and expect couples to make imaginative use of the space available for their special day. There have been an extraordinary variety of reception layouts, flowers and themes. Whether you are looking for a relaxed but sophisticated barbecue, vintage-style tea party or formal seated wedding breakfast, the buildings can be easily adapted and decorated to realise your ideas.

We are fortunate in being able to provide undercover parking for all guests, enabling a dignified and hassle-free arrival even if the weather is inclement. We are also very well-equipped for disabled guests, with ramps providing access to all areas of the venue.

Wedding Accommodation

This lovely and spacious three bedroom converted Barn sits in a tranquil setting on the edge of The Ashdown Forest and can be accessed on foot from the Weald Way public footpath which runs through Hendall Manor Farm. The Old Granary is highly unusual and has beautiful old beams, mullion windows with ancient, exposed brick and stone walls. Predominantly medieval in origin this very special building faces south over Hendall Manor’s beautiful walled garden and fields to the north.

On the ground floor is a charming double with  two exposed sandstone walls and has the benefit of an adjacent shower room.  There is a separate cloakroom with a traditional high cistern WC.  Upstairs, the second of the double bedrooms is light and very spacious with a super king size bed and its own en-suite bathroom.  The third bedroom has three single beds and a single day bed. It too has its own en-suite bathroom; this room works perfectly for the bride or groom squad. As well as a well-equipped kitchen and dining/breakfast room, there is also a snooker/pool table in one room and table tennis in the adjoining studio room which is often used for hair/make-up and wedding prep.

We have recently converted a 19th century Cart Barn providing a spacious studio style, open plan bed-sitting room for couples as a wedding suite – offering a two night stay.  The bedroom has a super king sized bed with a free standing bath and adjacent WC & Shower room.
