Lovingly restored, Hendall Manor Barns is a very beautiful, private, wedding and events venue in the heart of the East Sussex countryside.
Our glorious split-level Stone Barn is very adaptable for weddings and receptions of varying sizes, including small & intimate, as well as formal dining, ceremonies and dancing.
Two converted barns provide versatile accommodation depending on your requirements. A spacious, three bedroom converted Old Granary for up to 8 and The Cart Barn, recently renovated for 2.
Hendall provides a considerable space both within and directly outside that is full of character, that can be adapted for a multitude of different uses.
The Venue here at Hendall Manor Barns consists of three interconnecting buildings (The Stone Barn, The Old Dairy and a caterer’s kitchen in the former Calf Pens) surrounding a sizeable central courtyard with a lawn and a raised terrace.
The Stone Barn is an impressive building, almost 100ft in length and is arranged on two distinct levels connected by steps and a ramp.
The Old Dairy, formerly the old milking parlour offers a flexible and comfortable conference/studio room.

We are incredibly grateful to all our couples that take the time to write about their experiences with us. We love working with couples to deliver their dream day and we hope their experiences will give you an idea about what to expect.
We want to say a great big gigantic thank you for all that you for allowing us to hold our special day at your venue. We were not sure if a year was going to be a tight turn for planning such a wedding with independent decisions, but we are so please to say we did it!!!
The venue was absolutely perfect and everybody has said how pretty it was and how the venue made it an ideal wedding.
When we got engaged, obviously the first thing to do was jump on google and search venues for small weddings in Sussex, as I knew we didn’t want the large numbers – although there were times I worried our numbers were too small but this worry was all for nothing as in the end less than 100 was absolutely perfect and everyone we wanted was with us on our special day. The very first link that popped out at me on my search, was this stone barn in East Sussex and I suppose I knew then it was the place – we then only visited 2 other similar venues and a large manor one, but our decision was instantly made when we first visited Hendall.
Thank you for helping to keep the planning on track and appreciate your patience for the decisions we made – we just knew that with a magnificent setting of the barn there were so many ideas than can be had outside the box and I am pleased our visions came together on the day and all the details made our day magical. Having you guys on the day was an extra part that really meant a lot seeing as we have been through a journey of planning together and on the day it just went by so effortlessly knowing you had our guests in the right places at the right time.
The whole day went by with plenty of moments for my ‘husband and I’ to take it all in and spend time with our wonderful family and friends. I think the greatest feedback we have had from our guests is how they all had a wonderful day and spoke to each other many of whom had never met. This was one of the criteria we wanted when looking for a venue – somewhere where everyone can be a part of the day together and not have guests scattered around different parts of a venue. Hendall was just the absolute perfect size for this for people to mingle and for us to be able to speak to each and everyone of our guests.
The weather is a whole different story – I think we had nearly every extreme possible – bright warm sun, downpours, thunder and lightening, hail, then lots more sun and dry spells in between – it was certainly a show of its own!!!! There wasn’t much else to be had but even that didn’t hinder having the greatest wedding at Hendall, as guests swiftly moved themselves around to accommodate and it was not a big concern of the day.
The guests and ourselves had a marvellous time and just wished they could have continued to dance the night away.

Stayed here with three couples and three babies. The place is beautiful and big with lots of things to keep you entertained in the house – we particularly enjoyed the table tennis and pool tables! Nicola was an incredibly helpful host with good recommendations for local pubs with great food (would definitely recommend The Hurstwood pub).
Would come back to stay again!

Choosing Hendall Manor Barns for our wedding was one of the best decisions we made. From the moment we first visited, we knew it was the one — we didn’t even need to look anywhere else. The mix of beautiful old architecture, soft light, and modern touches gave it such a special atmosphere that felt completely us.
Nicola, Peter, and Viki were incredible from start to finish. Their warmth, care, and attention to detail made us feel so supported throughout the whole process. Nothing was ever too much trouble, and we knew our day was in the best hands possible.
The grounds are breathtaking — every corner feels like it’s made for photos — and they gave us the most magical backdrop to remember our day by.
We also loved the recommended supplier list; it made planning so much easier and introduced us to some truly amazing people who helped bring our vision to life.

Molly & I are so extremely grateful for everything you’ve done which has helped gift us with the best wedding day. Our favourite position generally being background characters in events, we were approaching the day with a bit of anxiety and stress about all the attention and business of the day, however, we couldn’t have enjoyed it more. Everything ran so smoothly, the food was delicious, the waiters and helpers were wonderful and the venue provoked a lot of amazing feedback. Everyone absolutely loved the day.
Once again, thank you for all you have done, your venue is amazing, we had a gorgeous day with gorgeous weather (somehow!!) and it was such a pleasure to get to know Peter & Nicola and the whole team at Hendall.

The barn has amazing original character with some wonderful large internal spaces for socialising and playing games. We visited in November when the weather wasn’t great and really enjoyed the snooker and table tennis. The bedrooms were very clean and comfortable and the bathrooms and kitchens modern and well-equipped. The location is beautiful, with great walks locally to inviting pubs. It’s a place we would love to return to, perhaps in the summer.

We stayed in the big barn the night before and the newly renovated 1 bed, cart barn the night of the wedding. Both are so lovely and would go back and stay there outside of the wedding! Thank you so much for making it more special than we could have ever have imagined!

On the 25th October Ellie & Scott got married here with around 70 guests and wanted a relaxed barn wedding from the start.
“Hendall ended up being the only venue we even looked at. By the time we were driving up the lane to leave, we had agreed that it was the perfect option. Even when we were shown around the very first time, before we had made many decisions about the wedding, I could imagine us getting married there.”
