Lovingly restored, Hendall Manor Barns is a very beautiful, private, wedding and events venue in the heart of the East Sussex countryside.
Our glorious split-level Stone Barn is very adaptable for weddings and receptions of varying sizes, including small & intimate, as well as formal dining, ceremonies and dancing.
Two converted barns provide versatile accommodation depending on your requirements. A spacious, three bedroom converted Old Granary for up to 8 and The Cart Barn, recently renovated for 2.
Hendall provides a considerable space both within and directly outside that is full of character, that can be adapted for a multitude of different uses.
The Venue here at Hendall Manor Barns consists of three interconnecting buildings (The Stone Barn, The Old Dairy and a caterer’s kitchen in the former Calf Pens) surrounding a sizeable central courtyard with a lawn and a raised terrace.
The Stone Barn is an impressive building, almost 100ft in length and is arranged on two distinct levels connected by steps and a ramp.
The Old Dairy, formerly the old milking parlour offers a flexible and comfortable conference/studio room.

We had a great stay in the beautiful and sympathetically restored barn. We loved reading about the history of the farm and how it had evolved into the property it is today. Nicola was extremely responsive to questions prior to arrival and was very friendly when we arrived.
Everything was as described and the kitchen was extremely well equipped – even with a good knife to carve the turkey on Christmas Day! We especially enjoyed being able to walk the dogs straight out of the front door onto the Weald Way with multiple different footpaths to try.

Choosing Hendall Manor Barns for our wedding was one of the best decisions we made. From the moment we first visited, we knew it was the one — we didn’t even need to look anywhere else. The mix of beautiful old architecture, soft light, and modern touches gave it such a special atmosphere that felt completely us.
Nicola, Peter, and Viki were incredible from start to finish. Their warmth, care, and attention to detail made us feel so supported throughout the whole process. Nothing was ever too much trouble, and we knew our day was in the best hands possible.
The grounds are breathtaking — every corner feels like it’s made for photos — and they gave us the most magical backdrop to remember our day by.
We also loved the recommended supplier list; it made planning so much easier and introduced us to some truly amazing people who helped bring our vision to life.

Had a fabulous Easter break with the family. The area was lovely and the house was great for socialising. Thank you for your hospitality.

Stayed here with three couples and three babies. The place is beautiful and big with lots of things to keep you entertained in the house – we particularly enjoyed the table tennis and pool tables! Nicola was an incredibly helpful host with good recommendations for local pubs with great food (would definitely recommend The Hurstwood pub).
Would come back to stay again!

The barn has amazing original character with some wonderful large internal spaces for socialising and playing games. We visited in November when the weather wasn’t great and really enjoyed the snooker and table tennis. The bedrooms were very clean and comfortable and the bathrooms and kitchens modern and well-equipped. The location is beautiful, with great walks locally to inviting pubs. It’s a place we would love to return to, perhaps in the summer.

A HUGE thank you to Nicola, Peter and Viki for all their hard work both during the wedding day and the planning/lead up.
Right from our very first contact with Nicola we were impressed by the way she worked and particularly liked that she had clear boundaries of what they do and don’t offer/recommend as this can really help with the overwhelming amount of decisions that there are to be made around organising weddings.
The shared spreadsheet was also a really helpful way to keep track everything decided/discussed in the in person meetings and via email.
The day could not have run smoother and we felt completely relaxed throughout the day knowing that were anything to happen Nicola was on hand to manage it.
The venue itself is gorgeous! The main Barn is beautifully designed and decorated without being too specific so you can still add your own touch to the space, the gardens are immaculately kept by Peter (not a blade of grass out of place) and the guest accommodation was equally stunning.
If you are thinking of having your wedding in Sussex I could not recommend Hendall Manor Barns more highly!

Wow… where to begin…. Nicola, Peter & Viki made our wedding so special… from the planning to the big day… it was seamless…. Nothing was to much trouble at all, we felt in such good hands and our wedding day was the best day of our lives! Everything was taken care of behind the scenes so there was absolutely no stress on the day! Our guests are still commenting on how beautiful Hendall is and how amazing everyone is who is involved!
We can’t Thank Hendall enough for everything they have done for us!
Also staying in the beautiful cottage added an extra special touch to our wedding!

We celebrated our Golden Wedding Anniversary at Hendall Manor Barns in September 2024.
From start to finish all was perfection and we had the most wonderful, memorable day.
Nicola, Peter and Viki, were charming and could not have been more helpful. At the initial meeting with Nicola and Viki, they went through every detail of what we might like to consider from the layout of the tables to flowers to photographer, etc., etc. including a substantial list of recommended caterers. We chose Elliott Catering and were blessed with Lisa who was equally delightful, helpful and organised.
Hendall Manor Barns are set in beautiful countryside, between Crowborough and Uckfield, at the end of a long driveway. The buildings themselves are attractive, stone construction making a lovely light and airy venue. There is a pleasant terrace and inner courtyard for guests wishing to take a break or enjoy drinks before or after the main event. There is ample parking, under cover and close to the venue.
Our guests wrote afterwards to say what a wonderful day it had been, how much they enjoyed themselves and are still mentioning it nearly six months later! Several guests who live locally, commented that they were unaware such a charming and delightful spot existed and they would definitely bear it in mind for a future occasion. There was also high praise for Lisa and her catering team.
The care and consideration that was shown to us from start to finish was faultless. We cannot recommend Nicola and Peter highly enough. It was like a second wedding reception without the nerves.
