Wedding Preparations

Bridal preparations took place at home, which is situated about 25 minutes away from Hendall and was also where the couple stayed the night prior to their wedding.

The Bride’s dress came from The Kent Wedding Centre; “a one stop destination for everything you need on your wedding day” and situated at The Hop Farm, in Paddock Wood, Kent. A bridal shop where you can acquire all manner of wedding related items!

The Groom drove himself and his Best Man to us and arrived in readiness to meet their wedding guests.

Their buttonholes were affixed and the chaps nervously awaited the guests and the bridal party.

The Vows and the Kiss

The Bride arrived in a car with her Father and the Bridesmaids followed in a separate car, arriving to Hendall shortly before the ceremony, conducted by the Crowborough Registrars, was due to commence.

The Bridal party walked in to the ceremony to Brian Crain’s Butterfly Waltz. This tranquil and emotive piano and cello composition worked so well within the space and was a fitting start to the day’s proceedings.

The Food, The Snaps, The Flowers and The Cake..oh, and the Magic!

Hayley Rose was appointed as their wedding photographer and is a face we love to see here. Hayley has been one of our recommended photographers for quite a while now, and it’s always a pleasure to have her with us.

The flowers were designed and installed by the Bride’s mother and one of her friends.

They decorated the ceremony table and delivered all of the pre-made table centrepiece arrangements which were stowed away from sight, ready to be brought out on to the dining tables after the quick turnaround from ceremony to wedding breakfast set up had taken place.

May’s ‘Supplier of the Month‘ Martin Doyle of MDFood4Thought was their chosen wedding caterer and provided guests with delicious canapes and a two course wedding breakfast for everyone to tuck in to.

On hand to entertain the guests throughout the wedding breakfast was close up magician, Stephen James.

Louise wrote:

“Stephen performed during our wedding breakfast and completely blew everyone away! It was such a joy to see the laughter and confusion on our guests faces, we are still baffled by it all 10 days later!”

The wedding cake, a three tiered fondant iced cake, complimented their deep purple colour scheme with simple purple ribbon surrounding the base of each tier.

The middle tier of the cake had a striking marble effect within the icing. The cherry bakewell tier was a big hit later on!

Their wedding cake was designed by Jo of Peekaboo Cakes, an award winning Sussex based luxury cake designer.

Not Your Average I Do were back installing strings of fairy lights in the eves of the Barn and these provided soft, twinkling lighting above the ceremony, wedding breakfast and the dance floor in the evening.

Let the Party Commence!

The evening reception band, Naked Bass, had everyone on the dance floor and offered a fun, interactive and energetic performance. Providing the guests with a mix of popular cover songs from the 50’s through to present day; a real hit! We liked them so much, they’ve made it on to our recommended suppliers list!

The evening food, provided by MD Food4Thought, consisted of a waffle bar and street style sandwiches. The guests also enjoyed finger slices of the couple’s wedding cake which had been kindly cut up and served by Martin and his team.

Louise and Dave, we hope you had a really wonderful day celebrating your marriage at Hendall Manor Barns; thank you for allowing us to host your special day.
