Gina and Simon were our second couple to marry in May and they had the most gorgeous, attention to detail filled wedding day here at Hendall Manor Barns.
Not only did Gina and her bridesmaids stay at Hendall the night prior, but Simon and his Best Man also stayed in our onsite accommodation. The ladies took the Main Barn, whilst the chaps bunked up together in the Piggery.
The wonderful Kate from Hero Hairstylist, who was our supplier of the month back in March, was in charge of the ladies hair.
Our gorgeous bride was renowned for always wearing her hair down and never wearing make up, she therefore opted for a simple half up/half down hair braid, sweetly interlaced with flowers and her make up was kept very natural, yet classic.
Gina’s dress was the stunning Lana Gown by Alexandra Grecco. With a divine open back and simple straps, the A line design was intricately hand-embroidered with floral appliqué that trailed beautifully from the bodice down to the skirt.
Her dress, being slightly off-white in colour, was complimented perfectly by her choice of bridesmaid dresses. Each bridesmaid wore a delicate, pale/dusky pink full length dress with rounded neckline and elegant pleated skirt. So picture perfect!
Gina and Simon’s ceremony was held in the Stone Barn and the bridal party walked into The Piano Guys rendition of Christina Perry’s ‘1000 years’. At the end of the ceremony, George Ezra’s ‘Paradise’ played the couple out, where drinks and canapes were swiftly served out on the terrace.
At the helm in the kitchen were Amuse Private Caterers, who are one of the finest caterers on our approved caterers list at Hendall. Sarah and Mike (of Amuse) are situated in the next door village to Hendall Manor Barns and are regulars here as well as at many other high-end venues in Sussex.
Their attention to detail is second to none and they had great fun with the brief from this fun and lively couple!
The couple’s love for their favourite high street eatery was brought to fruition by Amuse, who created them the most amazing version of “posh Nandos”. This was such a hit with everyone and, being served into the centre of the tables for all the guests to tuck into, made for a really sociable and trendy wedding breakfast experience.
Behind the lens was Nichola from Lemonade Pictures. A Kent based photographer who we’d not yet had the pleasure of working with. Nichola’s natural, quirky and fun approach to her photography was certainly a perfect match for this Bride and Groom.
As well as a wedding photographer, Gina and Simon also enlisted Ben from Foster Filming as their videographer. He was also a new face to Hendall.
Ben is an award winning wedding videographer, and, although based in Devon, he shoots at weddings up and down the country and we were thrilled to welcome him to our lovely East Sussex venue for this special day.
The delightful Laura from Fern Cottage Floristry, one of our recommended suppliers, was in charge of all the florals!
Milk churns filled with flowers and a vintage bike brimming with delicately placed blooms were placed at the main entrance to the Stone Barn and two further milk churns were positioned inside the barn for added impact.
The table centrepieces were made of empty bottles filled with flowers and a large white opaque balloon floated above each table, giving a real impact to the overall look of the reception space.
Each guest was gifted a personalised Tip Tree jam jar as a wedding favour and stunning hand-tied napkins detailing the guests name adorned the wedding breakfast tables.
Our clever bride, tasked herself with making the cake for their big day, and my word did she do a good job!
A three tiered, buttercream iced cake took centre stage in the barn; an absolute show stopper! Laura decorated the cake with some amazing flowers and the overall look achieved was quite sensational.
Their beer barrow was a huge hit; and was filled to the brim with bottles of beer for their guests to help themselves to. Additionally, an old vintage drinks trolley, offered guests to opportunity to fill their boots with sweets from jars and bowls overflowing with retro sweeties.
Ian from Disco Fever was booked to provide the entertainment for their evening reception and he did not disappoint. The guests were loving having a good old dance on the dance floor; the Macarena was an especially big hit!
A ‘Rudd on the Beach’ cocktail (a play on the newlyweds surname) was available for guests to enjoy from the bar and home made pizzas and burgers from Amuse were on offer as evening food as the evening reception got underway.
We so enjoyed helping Gina and Simon plan their special Hendall wedding day and loved seeing all their friends and family enjoying themselves so much; that’s what it’s all about and we can’t wait for the next one!
Big thanks must go to Nichola of Lemonade Pictures for supplying us with all these wonderful images of Gina and Simon’s day here!
