Autumn Weddings at Hendall

The arrival of autumn, marks the transition from those long, balmy summer days, to the cold, crisp chill of winter.

With falling leaves and beautiful autumnal foliage, autumn is such a wonderful season for a wedding or event and autumn weddings at Hendall are some of our favourites!

The season of rich tones, from burnt oranges to rustic reds and deep greens, to golden hues, make choosing a colour palette for an autumn wedding so varied.

Our Stone Barn offers a warm and cosy space which can be decorated in your own style and colour palette and, with underfloor heating throughout the building, it may be a bit nippy outside, but we can assure you and your guests a toasty welcome.

Beautiful lighting within the barn really enhances the warm and welcoming atmosphere and, as the nights draw in, adding twinkling fairy lights and uplighters to create colour washed walls in the barn will add a special ambience to the space!

Autumn is comfort food and game season, so when it comes to planning your menu, consider a wedding breakfast menu that features pheasant, kedgeree, stew and dumplings or pie with seasonal vegetables. Warming soups for starters and sloe gin cocktails on the evening bar will always be a big hit!

Our approved caterers will be able to work with you to plan the perfect autumnal wedding menu for you!

Nature is the gift that keeps on giving in autumn, and simple touches like berries , pine cones, twigs and burnt coloured leaves can be wonderfully incorporated in to bouquets, buttonholes and decorations within the barn; bringing the outside in.

Candles enhance and bring such a beautiful atmosphere in to a room, so are a must for any autumn wedding at Hendall. The soft orange glow of a candle naturally gives the feeling of warmth and comfort, and during the colder months, they will give the barn a cosy and romantic look.

Pumpkins filled with flowers or lots of mini pumpkins and squash used as table centrepieces and combined with candles, not only add a variety of colour but will add height and detailed interest to your wedding breakfast tables. Tree stumps and log slices covered in moss are also a great way to add that autumn touch.

One of our defining features here is the send off for the Bride and Groom. A sparkler send off at this time of year is a fitting way to end the day’s celebrations with Guy Fawkes night festivities taking place in Sussex through the months of October and November!
