Our Sussex Barn Venue

If you looking for a Sussex barn venue for your wedding read on… One of the biggest joys of Hendall has been the immense variety of weddings and other events held here. We have from the outset given our clients huge scope and encouragement to design their own day in the most stress-free way possible.

What we can offer

Hendall provides a highly versatile set-up and we have over the years hosted many beautiful and intimately arranged weddings. Our glorious sandstone barn looks amazing bathed externally by floodlights; internally lit with candles, tea lights, fairy lights and up lighters, and despite its size is surprisingly cosy. The building is underfloor heated, adding to its snug warm feel.

For smaller weddings we can offer a range of dry hire fees based on the duration of your day. Whether you might like a ceremony followed by a short reception with canapés, an afternoon tea or a full-on wedding breakfast, we can give you a bespoke costing accordingly. We can also discuss having your ceremony here within the next few months. (Yes it can be done!)

We have prided ourselves in not going with the flow and encouraging couples to concentrate their efforts and expenditure on what really matters – the ceremony and the catering. Despite the Covid restrictions it provide couples the opportunities to rethink their day and to revel in doing things differently. We love the creativity and unique spin our couples put on their day here.

Your Ceremony

After all, your marriage ceremony is why why you will all be here. We encourage couples to get the most from the ceremony itself. Why gallop through it when there are all sorts of ways to make it even more special. You may even decide to follow the initial legal ceremony with a second informal one which you could embellish with vows and readings.

We are a family owned business built around a highly attentive and homely approach to doing things as well as possible.
