Creative Workshops and Courses

Hendall is an ideal place in Sussex to hold any kind of creative workshops and courses. These can include a range of artistic, musical, dance or culinary group activities. We see many new customers come and visit us from East Sussex, West Sussex and also Tunbridge Wells in Kent.

The Studio/Conference Room has been used for art classes, the caterer’s kitchen for cookery classes and the Stone Barn for singing groups.  There is tremendous scope for courses, demonstrations, tutorials, training and teaching.

We have welcomed watercolour painting classes, willow weaving, a children’s ‘Olympic Cookathon’ and a one-day ‘butchery course’. Last year we hosted a two-day course for midwives.

The layout is versatile enough for combined theoretical and practical courses, using the conference room for teaching and our caterer’s kitchen for demonstrations and hands on activities.

The Conference/Studio room, which has north-facing skylights and two sinks, can be arranged to fit the size of class and the type of activity planned.

During the week even the smallest groups are welcome, and our dry hire fee largely depends on the numbers envisaged and our availability.

We can, on occasion, compete financially with village halls and civic centres to provide an attractive alternative destination for creative workshops and courses.
