The perfect summer wedding

Susy & Cassie’s love story

Take a look at one of our glorious summer weddings here in August for inspiration. If you are still dreaming of the perfect summer wedding, give us a call and we can hopefully make it a reality!

Susy and Cassie met in 2014. They became friends, worked together, and then a few months later told each other how they both felt about each other. Susy proposed to Cassie in Ireland on the cliffs of Moher. It was a huge surprise to Cassie but Susy had organised their friends to join them in Ireland and they all celebrated in Dublin for the weekend. Kodaline, The one, has been their song since day one. (They chose cello versions for their ceremony.)

7 years later they are now married with two fantastic children, who may I say, were a credit to them on the day!

The important things in life.

As well as dreaming of a perfect summer wedding they also had other dreams they wanted to pursue. They were settled in a cosy bungalow and so decided to go through the fostering process. Not long after, they got a referral for two boys who have lived with them since February 2018. Once the boys were settled C & S began wedding planning properly, aiming for August 2020 – still dreaming of the perfect summer wedding.

The all important wedding venue

We are told that as soon as they saw Hendall Manor Barns they fell in love, (much like they did!)  It was perfect for them and they agreed that they couldn’t wait for their wedding to be here, booking immediately. During their initial visit they told us that the team were so welcoming and informative that they knew they were in safe hands. With each subsequent visit, they could picture more of the wedding and how the day would flow. The accommodation was a big draw for them too, with the access to the swimming pool and friends and family just being together to allow them the opportunity of an amazing few days at Hendall.

Planning the day – Suppliers

The first suppliers they wanted to secure were the caterers. We had recommended Martin & Laura at MD food 4 thought.  Cassie told us that “The food was incredible, not one person went hungry, and everyone complimented the food. Also, throughout lock down I chatted to Laura a lot as she was supposed to get married Aug 2020 however like us, Covid 19 had other plans and our communication to each other really helped. I couldn’t have been happier with them.”

They then had a minor setback when a photographer refused to photograph a same-sex wedding! Luckily, they came across Ashley Hemsley who was more than happy to do their wedding. Being Ashley first time here he came along to their rehearsal and scoped out all the great places for photographs.  He was a joy to have around on the day. C & S told us he had great communication throughout and made them feel so relaxed.

Cassie & Susy wanted the decoration to reflect them and whilst looking they came across Forget me knot, local, which they wanted but basically everything they asked for Katie had! She was reassuring with Covid and the ever changing restrictions and challenges so they knew she was the one.

Mrs & Mrs…

Neither of the girls could decide whose last name to take so they went double barrelled! 😉

Every time I look at these photos it takes me straight back to your perfect summer wedding girls.

I hope your wedding inspires other couples to stop dreaming and start planning their perfect wedding with us.

Many thanks to all their suppliers who helped to make the day so special.
