Wedding Venue with on-site accommodation
Since Hendall opened its doors to couples over 12 years ago, the historic buildings at Hendall have been adapted, modernised and renovated to create a charming, countryside wedding venue with wedding accommodation for the couple and their nearest and dearest to stay, the night before and on the day of the wedding.
Their are two converted buildings for guests to stay in. The Old Granary & The Cart Barn. ‘The Old Granary’ is an unusual and historic 17th century sandstone building adjacent to the venue and The Cart Barn has been recently converted into a stunning suite, perfect for the happy couple. both ideal wedding accommodation. Our self catering accommodation provides a tranquil, secluded spot for you to all be together.
The Old Granary
In our converted granary the wedding accommodation is arranged over two floors. There are three en-suite bedrooms (sleeping up to 8).
On the ground floor there is a double bedroom with a king size bed, next to a large walk in shower room and a separate cloakroom with a traditional high cistern WC.
Upstairs are two bedrooms arranged at either end of the first floor. The master bedroom has a kind sized bed with soft furnishings and an en-suite bathroom consisting of bath with shower attachment, lavatory and washbasin.
From this bedroom, there are beautiful rural views over a private lawn from one side and a paddock with horses and woodland from the other.
The second bedroom is a spacious, well laid out ‘dormitory style room’, consisting of 4 single beds. This works perfectly as a little dormitory for the wedding party or other family members. However, two of these beds, can be made in to a double room if required. An en-suite, consisting of bath with shower attachment, washbasin and lavatory, is adjacent to the bedroom.
This bedroom also benefits from a dual aspect, with far reaching views towards the South Downs and there is a sweet little leaded window in this room which you and your bridal party can peak out of whilst getting ready to see all of the guests arriving.
Nestled between these bedrooms is our vaulted first floor sitting room, ideal for getting ready on the morning of the wedding with comfy sofas and armchairs.
Downstairs, there is a snooker/games room & table tennis table ideal for the wedding party gather the night before the wedding with a well-proportioned dining room and fully equipped kitchen to all eat together.
The studio room with it’s glass ceiling providing a light an airy space, perfect for hair and makeup on the morning of the wedding.
As a self catering barn, you will need to provide all the food and drink that you would like to enjoy during your stay. The kitchen has a tall fridge/freezer, cooker, microwave, toaster, dishwasher and washing machine. All necessary crockery, cutlery, utensils and glassware is also available. There is a Nespresso machine for all the coffee lovers.
Outside there is a private area with a table and chairs with glorious views over the fields adjacent to the venue. This is lovely space and can also in the Summer months be used for retiring for a night cap after the festivities!
Once everyone is ready your photographer will hopefully capture the moment the bride is ready to leave and head to either the venue or church to get married!
The Cart Barn
The Cart Barn has recently been restored and is mainly used as our couples suite. It is all on one level and has several skylights and is mainly open plan giving it a bright, lovely feel with a real sense of space. The barn is often used the morning of the wedding as a space for the groom and grooms men to meet before all wandering up to the Stone Barn to meet the guests as they arrive.
The wooden shutters provide complete privacy and again, this is a great space to go back to at the end of your wedding day. The en-suite shower room and freestanding bath adds to the decadence.
