When it comes to planning a wedding, a lot of thought has to go in to many different considerations to enable the day to come together; a big one, is how to choose your wedding colour palette and a guaranteed thought for every lucky bride is most certainly ‘what shall my colour scheme be?’
Colours play a huge part in all our lives, from the day to day, ‘what to wear’ dilemmas to carefully planned house decorations; colours say a lot about who we are.
On what is for most, the biggest day of their lives, a wedding theme and colour scheme will set the tone for not only the day itself, but the excitement, planning process and decision making in the run up to the wedding day.
Colours evoke different feelings for people; fond childhood memories, loved ones, school uniforms, flowers and gardens to name but a few.
When planning your wedding day, you want to choose a colour that you love but also one that will suit your venue and of course, the all important bridal party.
Summer weddings allow a huge flexibility when it comes to colour palettes. Be it bright and bold, soft pastel hues, an abundance of foliage or muted greys, whites and metallics; the choice is endless.
Winter weddings can offer a diverse colour scope too! Perhaps an all white theme that’ll be reminiscent of snow and chilly winters, or embracing the midnight blues, plummy purples and merlot reds; there are a plethora of beautiful colour blends out there that would create a stunning winter palette.
With Pantone’s ‘Living Coral’ hue being the favorite for 2019 weddings, 2020 is set to be all about ‘Neo-Mint’.
‘Mellow Yellow’, ‘Cantalope’, ‘Cassis’ and ‘Purist Blue’ will also get a look in and we can’t wait to see if this forecast becomes a reality next year.
Your wedding colours are personal to you, so whether that means sticking to one or two colours, or combining several of your favorite palettes; you’ll choose what’s best for you and the joy of it all is that there is no right or wrong!
So get creative, and pull together something unique; make your wedding day something really different!
