This afternoon Hendall welcomed members of the CLA South East to a Woodland and Deer Management Seminar. Jamie Cordery, South East Deer Liaison Officer for the Deer Initiative, who spoke at the seminar commented: “The Deer Initiative is dedicated to ensuring the delivery of a sustainable, well managed wild deer population and the seminar will look at the current deer situation in the South East and discuss how the impact of deer can be managed by landowners.” The seminar included a presentation from Jonathan Thompson, an Associate at law firm, Charles Russell Speechlys, who talked about the legal background to sporting rights, considerations when letting sporting rights and issues that landowners should consider when selling land and retaining sporting rights and developing adjoining land.
