Corporate Away Day at Hendall Manor Barns

Last week we hosted a young, dynamic Brighton based company for a corporate away day here at Hendall Manor Barns.

Nothing encourages creativity and increases team building effectiveness more, in taking your employees somewhere away from their usual environment and Hendall certainly offers a striking difference between the hustle and bustle of a busy city, allowing employees the chance to really relax amid a rural and private setting.

They arrived from Brighton via single decker coach with plenty of “ooohs” and “ahhhs” coming from the staff as they stepped off the coach. We welcomed them with coffee, tea and biscuits served on the upper level of the Stone Barn, before they took their seats for the start of their strategy day.

The lower level of the Barn was set up cabaret style for 40; offering plenty of space for moving around; which was most needed, as no sooner where they sat down, they were soon ushered outside on to the lawn for an inspirational talk by their MD.

The conference room was set up theatre style with a screen and projector and, after their first session in the barn, they moved into the conference room for another session, prior to lunch.

Using both of these spaces at Hendall, offered them a fantastic opportunity to make the most of differing set up requirements, thus allowing them a flexible and interchangeable setting throughout their day with us.

The success of most organisations depends on the ability of individuals to build effective teams and this group were doing just that. They worked effectively together throughout the day in teams of five, with a leisurely break for lunch.

Catering was provided by Green Fig, one of our approved caterers. With a large quantity of vegan delegates and guests with other dietary requirements, they were all catered for accordingly and deliciously by Jo and John.

The lawn and terrace were used in a most unique way later in the afternoon, for a creative ‘mapping out’ of the company’s four main values using tape and boards to divide up the space to visually show the impact these values have on their business.

It was wonderful to see Hendall and the space we have to offer here, used so imaginatively, covering all areas of the venue; it shows just how much scope their is here to create a bespoke and personal event here, be it a corporate, private or charity event.
