Situated just outside the towns of Uckfield and Crowborough, our charming Stone Barn is fully licensed to hold both wedding ceremonies and civil partnerships and of course, we can host celebrant led ceremonies too.

Two such couples did just this, and held their wedding ceremonies with us last August.

First, we welcomed the lovely Anna and Max who married here on 17.08.19 and shortly after their nuptials, followed Eriko and Scott who held their ‘blessing’ ceremony here on 25.08.19.

Both these couples chose only to hold their ceremony with us as they had already secured their wedding reception venues.

Anna and Max were lucky enough to use one of the barns on the family farm, situated just down the road from us in the village of High Hurstwood where Anna grew up and Eriko and Scott held their reception at Eridge Village Hall, just outside Royal Tunbridge Wells and only 15 minutes away from us.

The mornings preparations consisted of their florist (Sister of the Groom) arriving and decorating the chairs down the aisle.

Beautiful bunches of green foliage and white flowers flanked the chairs and ribbons of pale blue and white, trailed down to the floor; the result was magnificent.

As their guests arrived, their photographers Laura Ellen and her second shooter, Greg were their to capture candid moments of the guests, before ensuring they captured Anna’s arrival to us.

Anna and her Bridesmaids, arrived in a vintage green Southdown Leyland National bus; native to East Sussex! This old bus, no longer in the public service has been lovingly restored and acquired by Anna’s step-uncle!

We guided them through their ceremony which was conducted by the East Sussex Registrars. We were on hand throughout the duration to ensure guests were welcomed to Hendall, the bridal parties met with the registrars before the marriage took place, and that their chosen music and procession into the Barn was well timed and managed.

Anna’s wedding dress was purchased from Wed 2 Be in Brighton; a stunning full length lace dress! Max wore a pale blue suit, white shirt and pinky/orange tie! They certainly made a very handsome couple.

After their ceremony, all the guests gathered on to the enclosed lawn for a group photograph and, whilst the guests took their leave for the reception, the newlyweds headed out in to the gardens and grounds for some photographs, before following their guests to their wedding reception!

Eriko and Scott – 25.08.19

Eriko and Scott held their wedding ceremony here at Hendall, but, were already officially married earlier in the week at the Registry Office in Islington, London.

The Bride’s brother and Groom’s sister officiated their wedding ceremony here at Hendall; a wonderfully personal blessing service.

As there was no need for the Bride and Groom to meet with Registrars in an official capacity, they arrived together just before their blessing ceremony was about to commence. They walked down the aisle together, holding one another’s hands to the sound of two acoustic guitarists.

After this, the wedding party made their way out on to our terrace for drinks and canapes. This was provided and staffed by the caterer that they had booked for their wedding reception; EpiCatering Services, based in Uckfield.

Their photographer, Harmit, was busy capturing special moments of their day and took the couple off for a few bridal shots, before the guests departed Hendall for Eridge Village Hall on two pre-booked buses.
